We've done it ourselves
Every course, lodge and transfer we recommend, we have played, slept in or sat through. If we haven't, we'll tell you.
Eight years of golf safaris, built on sixty combined years in African travel — rebuilt from the first tee up. Africa Golf Safari is Graeme and Shelagh Harker: two Africans, a 4x4, a trailer, and a set of clubs that has seen ten countries' worth of first tees.

That last number is the one we are proudest of. More than two in three of our guests travel with us again — the clearest verdict there is on whether a journey was worth it.
Years ago, we packed a trailer, loaded the clubs, and set off to answer a question that had been nagging at us: could you build one journey that did justice to both of Africa's great gifts — its wilderness and its golf?
We drove the roads ourselves. We played Muthaiga on a misty Nairobi morning and watched elephants cross the fairway at Elephant Hills. We sat in the spray of Victoria Falls, tracked gorillas in the Virungas with our boots still muddy from a dawn round in Kigali, and learned — sometimes the hard way — which transfers work, which lodges over-promise, and which caddies you'd trust with your putting line and your life story.
The answer to our question was yes. But only if someone who had actually done it planned it. So that became the business: we are Africans, we have done these journeys ourselves, and we plan every one personally.
Every course, lodge and transfer we recommend, we have played, slept in or sat through. If we haven't, we'll tell you.
Decades in African travel, membership of IAGTO — the international body for golf tour operators — and 100% financial protection on every booking through Protected Trust Services.
Your itinerary isn't passed down a chain. Graeme and Shelagh's names are on the business because their judgement is in every journey.
We travel in small parties, choose lodges that give back, and support conservation in the places that host us. Golf is the thread; the wild is the cloth.
Multi-country African travel has many moving parts. You deal with one team, one number, one promise — from first idea to flight home.
If a course isn't worth your green fee, or a season isn't right for the Mara, we'll say so — even when it costs us a sale. Especially then.
The golf brain. Graeme has played every course we sell and most we don't. Ask him about the wind at St Francis or the 13th at Leopard Creek and clear your afternoon.
The safari soul — and the champion of the Gallery. Shelagh designs the days for those who'd rather watch elephants than putts, and makes sure no one ever feels like a plus-one.
Tessa Senger looks after Southern Africa; Benjamin Murwayi is our East Africa specialist. One of them reviews every itinerary line by line before it reaches you — so you always know exactly who is looking after your journey.
People sometimes ask why we don't sell forty countries like the big websites do. The honest answer: because we haven't stood on the ground in forty countries. We'd rather be the absolute authority on ten than a search engine for the rest of the continent.
The International Association of Golf Tour Operators — the global accreditation body for golf travel. Membership means vetted standards and real industry standing.
Every booking is protected through Protected Trust Services (PTS member 5806). Your money is held in independent trust and is completely safe until you return home.
More than two-thirds of our guests travel with us again. In a business where most clients are once-in-a-lifetime, that is the number we work hardest to protect.

We'll build the wild, and the golf, around that — and nothing else.
