Encounters

Remarkable people, available — quietly — to your party only.

Play a private round with a major champion. Run a training loop with the greatest marathoner alive. Spend a morning with the scientists keeping the gorillas on the mountain. These encounters are one-to-one or family-only, arranged by us, and never advertised by them. Most require lead time — tell us early and we'll weave the encounter into the right week of the right month.

Sporting legends

Portrait of Gary Player on course in trademark black, club in hand

Gary Player

Nine-time major champion · Course architect

A private round at Leopard Creek Country Club with the man who built modern African golf — the course he designed beside the Kruger, where elephants cross the eighteenth. No gallery. No fanfare. Just the game, and the stories of nine majors. Encounters are arranged through his foundation when he is in residence in the Cape or the Lowveld.

Eliud Kipchoge

Marathon world record holder · Olympic champion

The greatest marathoner in history. Join a gentle training loop at his camp in Kaptagat, two thousand metres up in Kenya's Rift — then sit for tea and a conversation about discipline you will think about for years. Rare, philosophical, and conditional on his calendar.

Renias Mhlongo crouched over tracks at dawn, Sabi Sand. Alt: "Tracking with Renias Mhlongo"

Renias Mhlongo

Master tracker · Sabi Sand

Africa's greatest tracker. A dawn walk with Renias is not a game-drive supplement — it is the reason the journey exists. He reads the ground the way you read a page.

Jackson ole Looseyia

Maasai guide · BBC presenter

The Mara through the eyes of the man who presented it to the world. A guide, a storyteller, and the finest company on a long drive.

Telescope under the Milky Way in the NamibRand desert

NamibRand Astronomer

Dark-sky astronomy host

The NamibRand is one of the darkest certified sky reserves on earth. An evening at the telescope with a resident astronomer, after a day on the dunes — and, if you've played Rossmund, the strangest 19th hole in golf.

How it works

Tell us who you'd love to meet when you design your journey — or ask us who suits it. We confirm availability before you commit a cent, and we build the rest of the week around the day.

Design a journey with an encounter

Tell us how you want to feel when you come home.

We'll build the wild, and the golf, around that — and nothing else.
