The South Africa Series
The deepest field of golf on the continent — Fancourt, St Francis, the Cape — properly safaried. Three classic routes, each run once a year in its perfect season, each capped at twelve guests.
The Cape Classic
Cape Town → Stellenbosch → Fancourt → St Francis → Shamwari · 12 nights
The Cape in spring bloom, ending with malaria-free Big Five. South Africa's reigning No. 1 — The Links at Fancourt — and the closest thing to true links golf on the coast at St Francis, with the vines, the whales and Shamwari's celebrated reserve woven through.
Under the mountain
Table Mountain, the Atlantic seaboard, and an opening round at Steenberg among the Constantia vines.
Golf among the vines
A round at De Zalze, then the estates of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek — cellar lunches and slate-blue mountains.
The No. 1 in Africa
The Garden Route to Fancourt: The Links — Gary Player's man-made masterpiece, often rated the finest course on the continent — plus Montagu or Outeniqua for the second round.
True links on the Indian Ocean
Wild, windswept and sandy — St Francis Links, Nicklaus's coastal test, with the canals and beaches of the village to wander.
Big Five, malaria-free
Two full days in Shamwari's celebrated Eastern Cape reserve — lion, elephant, rhino, and the Born Free sanctuary — with no malaria precautions needed at all.

The Grand Tour
Fancourt → Cape Town → Kruger private reserves → Victoria Falls · 13 nights
The classic arc, run in the dry season when the bush opens up and the game gathers at water. Fancourt and the Cape first; then leopard country in a private Kruger concession; then the journey lifts out of South Africa entirely to finish at the lip of Victoria Falls.
Start at the summit
Fly into George and open with the best: The Links, then Montagu, with the Garden Route on your doorstep.
The Mother City
A round at Royal Cape — the oldest club in the country — between the mountain, the markets and the two oceans.
Leopard country
Fly north-east to a private concession bordering the Kruger — Africa's most dependable Big Five, two drives a day, and a round at Leopard Creek on the Crocodile River: hippos at the 16th, an island-green 18th, the purest golf-safari course on earth.
Finish at the thunder
Across the border to Mosi-oa-Tunya. The Falls at full voice, a Zambezi sunset cruise, and a final round at Elephant Hills above the gorge.

Vines, Falls & Chobe
Stellenbosch → Cape Town → Victoria Falls → Chobe · 12 nights
September: whales off the Cape, the bush bone-dry, and the largest elephant herds on the continent gathering on the Chobe River at dusk. The gentlest of the three routes — and, many say, the most beautiful ending in Africa, watched from the water with a drink in hand.
Open among the vines
Pearl Valley beneath the Drakenstein mountains and De Zalze at the village edge — play one, taste your way home from the other.
Whales and the mountain
September is whale season — southern rights off the peninsula — with a round at Steenberg and the city's tables at their best.
The Smoke that Thunders
North to the Zambezi: the Falls, the bridge, the gorge — and a round at Elephant Hills with warthog in the rough.
Elephants by the thousand
An hour's drive into Botswana. Chobe holds the largest elephant herds on earth, best witnessed by boat as they swim and gather on the river at sunset. No golf here, and we'll tell you that honestly — in Botswana the wild is everything; the golf was the journey that got you here.
