How much does a golf safari cost?
A realistic budget is US$4,000 to US$17,000 per person sharing for a 7–14 night golf safari, excluding international flights. The honest version is more useful than a single number: where you go, the tier of lodge, and whether gorilla permits or fly-in camps are involved move the figure more than anything else. Here are the real bands, by destination — the numbers most operators make you ask for.
What each Africa actually costs.
Guide bands per person sharing, excluding international flights, at the named-hotel standard shown on our journeys. Every journey page carries its own guide price, and every one can be privately priced exactly — adjust the nights, rounds and experiences and a specialist confirms your figure, usually within one working day.
The five things that change the price.
1 · Permits. Gorillas cost US$1,500 (Rwanda) or US$800 (Uganda) per person per trek — included in our prices, never hidden. 2 · How you move. Light-aircraft hops into the Delta or the Mara cost more than road transfers and are worth it. 3 · The lodge tier. The gap between a very good 4-star and a world-famous 5-star is real; we will tell you when it is worth paying and when it is not. 4 · Season. Crossing season in the Mara and high summer in the Cape carry premiums; shoulder months are the honest saving. 5 · Exclusivity. Botswana's twelve-tent camps and the Sabi Sand's private traverse are priced for the silence they sell.

How much does a golf safari cost?
A realistic range is US$4,000 to US$17,000 per person sharing for 7–14 nights, excluding international flights. South African classics start around US$4,000 – US$5,000; signature 5-star journeys run US$7,000 – US$13,000; gorilla journeys and Botswana's fly-in camps sit at the top, US$12,000 – US$17,000.
Why do gorilla journeys cost more?
Permits. Rwanda's gorilla trekking permit is US$1,500 per person per trek and Uganda's is US$800 — both included in our prices — plus the lodges near the parks are small and exceptional. The hour with the gorillas is, by common consent, worth every cent.
Why is Botswana the most expensive safari?
Deliberate low-volume tourism: camps of under twelve tents in vast private concessions, reached by light aircraft. You are paying for having the wilderness almost to yourself.
What's usually included in the price?
On our journeys: all accommodation (named hotels), all listed rounds with green and cart fees, safari stays on full board or fully inclusive with game drives, domestic flights where listed, all transfers, and a named specialist throughout. International flights are excluded — fares vary too much by origin to quote honestly.
Can a golf safari cost less than US$4,000?
Yes — shorten the trip, travel in shoulder season, choose 4-star city hotels over 5-star icons, or stay self-drive in South Africa. We will show you the honest trade-offs rather than quietly downgrading the parts you care about.
Are single travellers penalised?
Single supplements are real but negotiable. On our hosted and ladies' departures we offer willing-to-share matching, and we negotiate supplements down wherever a property allows — and always show you the workings.
