I've played a lot of golf in a lot of places, but teeing off at Leopard Creek with the Crocodile River below and elephants on the far bank is something I'll never top. Africa Golf Safari handled every transfer, every tee time, every game drive without a single hiccup — I genuinely never thought about logistics once. The Sabi Sand leg gave us three leopard sightings in two days. Worth every cent and then some.

I travelled on one of the scheduled group departures and was a little nervous about not knowing anyone — completely unnecessary. Lovely, like-minded group, brilliant guide, and the balance of golf and safari was judged perfectly. Karen Country Club was a treat, but watching the wildebeest on the Mara at dawn after a morning on the course is the memory that's stayed with me. Faultless from start to finish.

Precise, professional and genuinely warm — exactly what I hoped for. Playing with Kilimanjaro in the background was surreal, and the Ngorongoro Crater exceeded every expectation. At 68 I wasn't sure I'd manage golf, travel and game drives in one trip, but the pacing was spot on and I never felt rushed. Fancourt's Links course was a bucket-list tick for my husband, and I was happy as long as there were impala and a good glass of wine at sundown. We got both. A wonderful group departure run by people who clearly know southern Africa inside out.

Booked this with three golf-club mates and it delivered everything the brochure promised. Windsor is a cracking course and the Mara is simply on another level — we had lions on a kill within an hour of our first drive. The guides made the safari, and the whole thing was organised so well that all we had to do was turn up and enjoy ourselves. Already planning the next one.

My husband is the golfer and I'm the safari fanatic, so we needed a trip that worked for both — and this nailed it. We came all the way from Auckland and wanted it to count. The Winelands golf — Pearl Valley and Arabella — was stunning, Cape Town was a highlight in itself, and the safari add-on rounded out a trip we still talk about constantly. Everything was seamless: drivers waiting, upgrades sorted, restaurant bookings made for us. You feel looked after the entire way.

I wanted to combine East Africa's two great parks with some golf in between, which isn't a standard itinerary — they built it for me without fuss. Long days, a lot of driving and flying, but every connection worked and the wildlife was beyond anything I'd imagined. The golf was the relaxing counterpoint to some very early safari mornings.
